I already told you guys yesterday that the veggies aren't really pleased with their food. Everyday they get cheese, cheese and today for a change: cheese! Mr. Puh told me during our interview from two days ago that it's hard to cook for veggies, because they are not used to making food like that, but they're learning! He also promised eggs YESTERDAY for dinner and what did they get TODAY? Eggs! Delicious eggs fried in too much oil for an extra juicy taste! But what do the rest of the Task Force people actually think of the food they serve here?

Bozy:

On some days the food is good here. My favorite food is meat and fries, so please let them serve it here more often! I don't like fish, they must get that off the menu! I think the service is okay here. If I could do it my way, I'd serve meat and ice-cream everyday with juice and beer. Fast food is also very nice. I also think they should make dinner at 10:00 PM, that's the perfect time to eat! I loved the food they served at the excursions last weekend, especially the gnocchi. The sandwiches are okay, but they gotta add some drinks to it, because we are working so hard! If I could make our lunch, I would serve sandwiches, cakes, fruit and pivo!

Erika:

I think the service is nice at this place because they give you everything you want, if you ask for it. They could make the food better, especially the soup, it's so oily! I like the spagetti bolognese the most. If you ask me they've got to serve some pizza at this place, everybody loves that! The water on the tables is welcome, but they could also give us something else to drink for a change. The sandwiches are also okay, the only problem is that we have been getting them now for three weeks in a row. My opinion is that they should stop giving us so much potatoes, spagetti and bread and focus some more on the taste of the food! Oh yeah, they should give us sladoled everyday!

Dragana:

I like the service here, they are doing the best they can. I also like the food they serve here. The only problem is that the food is never on time. I don't like the sandwiches they give us for our breaks, I'm really sick of them! I also think they should serve more fruit at breakfast and they should give us some more drinks. The only thing I hate is that everything is so unorganized.

Dorian:

The service is professional here. Not very luxurious, more like cafeteria-style service. The food is very nice. I like that we don't have to cook the food ourselves, that's great! The only thing I hate is that they serve way too much soup here. My favorite food at breakfast is cornflakes. The sandwiches are very dry, they need more taste. If I could then I would change the decorations in the restaurant and I would serve cola instead of water. I also think they should put a bottle of ketchup on every table, I like that.

TODAY: SPECIAL INTERVIEW WITH MR. PUH!


Here it is guys, after all this time: An exclusive interview with the manager at the restaurant, Mr. Željko Puh!

Mr. Puh already works 25 happy years at the autocamp. Because he has already worked for 25 years he has finally made the top spot at the restaurant: the manager!

Since we arrived at the camp many of you have been complaining about the service here at the restaurant. Mr. Puh and I hope that after you read this, you will get an idea that it is also very hard work for the waiters at the restaurant. There are two shifts, from 6:00 AM till midnight, 7 days a week. There are about 20 people working at the reastaurant, including the kitchen staff. According to Mr. Puh the older people work better than the younger people because they work all year long and the younger people work only there for two months in the summer. Before I forget I have a great tip for all you guys who are thinking of throwing a party, wedding or whatever. Come and celebrate it at the restaurant! They are open all year long for these events, so if your are very curious for information just ask for Mr. Puh at the restaurant.

Each morning the chef-cook makes up the menu for the next day and they buy the groceries the same day. I also asked him what he thinks about the vegetarian food and his answer was that it is very hard for the kitchen to make food like that, because they are not used to making it, especially for extreme veggies that don't eat fish. But we are learning he said, so when you veggies are thinking of coming back to the camp in a few years, you have the possibility of eating good veggie food. I also asked Mr. Puh what the waiters think of us and the answer was that they are very pleased that we are staying at the camp. Every year they have big groups staying in the hostel so they are used to making that much food.


I hope you guys have an idea now how it works in the restaurant and that you try to understand that they are also trying to give us quality food during our stay here at the camp. And veggies, they are serving eggs tonight. :)

Hi guys!

First I want to say that the restaurant interview is going to be posted here tomorrow, sorry! But hey, now you have something to look out for!

This afternoon, for lunch we got for starters: soup, for the main course rice and meat and for dessert an apple! The veggies got: cheese (what a surprise) with bread for starters, for the main course they got potato croquettes and cheese (really!?) and for dessert also an apple.

So yeah I am supposed to have the interview today, but plans change. So I promise you guys that tomorrow there will be an extra large post.

From here on I'm taking the food blog over from Ana Maria. My name is Ivona and I'm gonna give you and the rest of Task Force some tips, info, interviews and opinions of the lovely food they serve here at the restaurant.

For all of you who are disappointed that Ana left, don't worry! She is still working in the web workshop together with Eduardo, translating text from Spanish to Croatian. Ana already gave you info about breakfast, lunch and dinner and her own personal touch. The next days you can expect in my posts: 'How healthy is our food?', opinions from the people here eating the food and a special post for the veggies: 'How we can give back hope to the veggies'.

This is my first post so far, but don't worry! Tomorrow around 20:00 there will be a new post with an exclusive interview from a waiter at the restaurant.

For breakfast we didn't get anything new...just coffee and milk, which tastes more like water than coffee, or tea and bread with butter or cheese. We got a new ingredient in our daily sandwiches at work: tomatoes! Now the sandwiches seem to be made at Subway! For lunch, soup and noodles, rice and meat, tomato and lettuce salad, and for dessert: ice cream! Everybody enjoys that dessert! For dinner we got spaghetti with tomato sauce, mashed potatoes with meat, lettuce salad and doughnuts. I think it's too much dough for dinner. Spaghetti, mashed potatoes and meat is not the perfect combination...

Za doručak nije bilo ništa novo...samo mlijeko i kava, koja ima više okus vode a ne kave, ili čaj uz kruh sa maslacem ili sirom. Dobili smo novi sastojak u sendvičima koje dobijemo na poslu: rajčice! Sada sendviči izgledaju kao da su napravljeni u Subway-u! Za ručak je bila juha sa rezancima, riža i meso i salata od rajčice i krastavaca, i za desert: sladoled! Svi vole sladaoled.... Za večeru smo imali špagete s umakom od rajčice, pire krumpir sa mesom, zelena salata i krafne. Mislim da je to malo previše za večeru. Špagete i pire s mesom nisu baš najbolja kombinacija...

For breakfast we got coffee and milk and bread with chocolate cream. It was great! For lunch we had tomato soup, french fries with meat, tomato and cucumber salad, and for dessert: ice cream! Everybody enjoys when we get "sladoled". For dinner squid risotto, which was delicious, and chicken with rice and for dessert: croissants with cheese! Of course, vegetarians get "special" food. They ate eggplant, rice, cheese and tomato salad...like almost every day.

Za doručak smo dobili kavu i mlijeko i kruh s čokoladnim namazom. Bilo je odlično! Za ručak je bila juha od rajčice, pomfrit s mesom, salatu sa rajčicama i krastavcima, a za desert: sladoled! Svi uživaju kada dobijemo sladoled. Za večeru je bilo rižoto od lignje, koje je bilo jako ukusno, i piletinu sa rižom a za desert: croissant sa sirom! Naravno, vegeterijanci dobivaju drugu hranu. Oni su imali patliđane, rižu, sir i salatu od rajčice...skoro isto kao i svaki drugi dan.

Everyday we have three main meals. For breakfast, at 6:30 a.m., we can choose tea or chocolate and bread with butter and marmolade. While we work we have a break of 30 minutes and we eat a sandwich with cheese and ham. For lunch, at 2:00 p.m., we had soup with noodles; for the main course, meat, potatoes and a lettuce salad with cucumbers; and for dessert, an apple. For dinner, spaghetti with tomato sauce, then pork with potatoes and lettuce salad and a cheese dessert. Everybody enjoyed the lunch...because we were so hungry after work. And for dinner...just a few people ate it 'cause a lot of us went to Pula to party!

Svaki dan imamo tri glavna obroka. Za doručak, u 6:30, možemo birati čaj ili čokoladu i kruh sa maslacem i marmeladom. Dok radimo imamo odmor od 30 min i tada dobijemo sendvič sa šunkom i sirom. Za ručak, u 14:00, imali smo juhu sa rezancima kao predjelo, a kao glavno jelo meso, krumpir i zelenu salatu sa krastavcima; za desert je bila jabuka. Za večeru, u 20:30, bila je špageta bolognese, odojak sa krumpirima i, opet, zelena salata sa krastavcima; desert je ovaj put bio kolač sa sirom. Svi su uživali u ručku, najviše zato što su bili gladni poslije posla. A što se tiče večere, samo je malo ljudi jelo jer je večina nas otišla tulumariti u Puli!
